Import & Export

As a business specializing in overseas shipping, we handle all aspects of import and export to and from most origin and destination points worldwide. In many countries around the globe, we're capable of providing complete door-to-door service.

Ocean & Air Freight

Shipping overseas is conducted via ocean or air. Ocean freight, usually the more economical method, is priced mainly based on commodity and volume. Air freight, typically faster, is priced on a combination of weight and measurements. We have the means to ship your goods by either method, worldwide.

Full Container or Less Than Container Load (LCL)

Ocean freight is handled for most commodities in metal, waterproof 20' and 40' containers. You don't need a full container load to ship overseas—we handle shipments of any size, large or small. Less-than-container shipments are crated in our facilities before consolidation. We typically have weekly consolidations to most destinations.

Personal Effects & Household Goods

Great care and professional packing are required to withstand the rough inland and ocean voyage. We have specially trained and experienced crews dedicated to handling shipments of personal effects and household goods. From a free survey at your origin point through delivery to your final destination, we're committed to providing personal, high-quality service. Complete door-to-door service—or any portion of it—is available to and from most destinations.

Boats, Cars & Motorcycles

Vehicle shipping costs are based mainly on dimensions. Sailboats on cradles, boats on trailers, and sometimes cars are shipped via roll-on/roll-off voyages that depart monthly. Although slightly more expensive, we recommend shipping cars in containers via vessels that depart weekly—it's safer and faster. Motorcycles and jet skis are usually crated and consolidated with other freight into containers for weekly voyages.

If you're shipping both personal effects and a vehicle, we recommend packing them separately for easier and faster customs release at the destination.

Commercial Freight

We can coordinate pickups of container loads and LCLs from factories, including off-site crating, or receive deliveries at our warehouse for consolidation with other freight. Our warehouse is fully equipped to handle your loads. We'll manage all documentation, including sight drafts, letters of credit, and certificates of origin.

Purchasing Appliances & Household Goods

We believe that with today's various communication channels and their ease of use, you don't need intermediaries or brokers to handle purchases for you. However, if such a service is needed, Strand is your best choice.

The advantage of using Strand for this purpose is that everything is handled firsthand—no subcontractors involved. We'll order goods on your behalf, inspect them upon arrival at our warehouse, and inform you weekly about what's been received. When your order is complete, we'll ship it to you, clear it through customs, and deliver it to your residence.

Marine Insurance

As an additional service to our customers, Strand offers all-risk marine insurance. For customers shipping to Israel, Strand serves as an Israeli insurance underwriter with our own insurance representative to intermediate between you and the main insurance office in Israel.
